The Obstacle Process: Creating an Emotionally Intelligent Brand Film
You've got a brief, plans for a campaign and maybe even a script. But how do you turn what's on paper into a film that connects with your audience? At Obstacle, we're experts at bringing your campaign to life, through a people-centric approach.
At Obstacle, we take a long-term approach, focusing on campaign maximisation—just as we did for WeGlow where we delivered 200 assets (including a 60-second Hero Film, 9 Real-Life Documentary Stories, and 60 Social Films). Learn more in our case study, Together WeGlow.
Define
We help you to define your idea, in a roundtable setting. Obstacle Roundtables allow our team to gain a deep understanding of what is needed for your campaign. We listen—learning what you need and what your audience desires.
Once ready, we will focus on specifics: who’s involved, what we’re filming, when your campaign will be going live. We'll also our offer expertise on your campaign strategy because at Obstacle, we value long-term conversations. We don’t simply aim to support your current project; we care about setting you up for long-term success in your campaign strategy.
Refine
Once our team of filmmakers have crafted an initial script we move onto refining the next version with you in a second Roundtable. We bring together all elements we have spent time refining, as well as welcome new ideas as the script develops.
Align
In a final roundtable, we decide on the creative direction, moving from ideation to narrative creation.
Production
We keep you informed at every step and are always just a phone call away. On our end, we handle everything from booking logistics to assembling the right creative team.
Production
We’ve filmed on every continent except Antarctica for the Airbus 365 campaign. We’ve also shot extensively in Germany, the UK, and France.
Post Production
The timeline varies based on the project scope and feedback. We handle edits, and reviews, and can even create original music for your brand film, thanks to our head of sound, Grammy-nominated producer Sam Featherstone.
